Accessible Counseling Progam is a service for victims of domestic violence and sometimes the children of victims or even the perpetrator. MHA works to secure free counseling services with a clinician to help repair the trauma of domestic violence and stop the cycle of violence in the home. Anger Management: Do you know someone who might benefit from learning to control his or her anger? The Mental Health Association of Onondaga County, Inc. is offering a 6 week anger management program. The program, Acknowledging, Accepting and Alleviating Anger, will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m. "Acknowledging, Accepting and Alleviating Anger" is facilitated by Kathleen Tryon and Joe Gerace. Kathy and Joe are Certified Social Workers and therapists whose areas of expertise include trauma, family violence prevention, and relationship enhancement. Community Companions: MHA's friendship matching/support program for adults who deal with mental health issues has a need for volunteers that want to make a new friend, and spend 4 hours a month enjoying a variety of shared interests; Very flexible.
