Membership
Who is the typical Mental Health Association member? It could be a parent who found direction at our Children 1st! program, a therapist who knows the need for our advocacy efforts, an employee assistance program director who called for a referral, a doctor who knows how mental health affects her patients' quality of life, a business owner aware that his employees' well-being affects the health of his company, a teacher who learned how to help her students at our eating disorders workshop, someone who lives with rejection and misunderstanding because of a mental illness, a family who believes that 'family' means our whole community.
There is one thing typical about all of them. They care, and they act on that caring. That may mean a membership of $15 a year - or $500 or more. They don't assume that someone else will do it.
