Sunday night marked the Little League Classic, MLB’s annual trip to Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pa. The Philadelphia Phillies took on the Washington Nationals and before the game, one of the Phillies made a comment that turned some heads.
In pre-taped segments, players are asked different questions. What’s their favorite baseball movie, favorite food, etc. One of the questions that aired prior to Sunday’s first pitch was, Who would you most love to meet?
Washington’s shortstop CJ Abrams said Jay-Z, while Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper said that he’d already met that person, point to the Phillie Phanatic on his. Nothing too surprising.
Phillies shortstop Trea Turner, though, identified Elon Musk.

Musk is certainly a polarizing person and his ownership of Twitter, or X, hasn’t done anything to change that. There are very few neutral opinions on Musk.
That showed on Sunday after Turner’s answer was revealed.

The first inning did go poorly for both Turner and the Phillies. Turner, Philadelphia’s second hitter, struck out and while the Phillies did get two runners on, they didn’t score. Washington had no such problem in the home half of the inning, opening up a 4-0 lead before even recording an out.
