Russell Wilson is coming off the worst season of his NFL career. After coming over to the Denver Broncos from the Seattle Seahawks in a blockbuster trade, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback experienced struggles and frustrations that he never had in his NFL career.

Things were so bleak that the Broncos fired Nathaniel Hackett in his first season as head coach before the season even finished. And because of that and Wilson seemingly taking a huge step back, the Broncos went out and got Sean Payton to help fix what’s broken with the 34-year-old quarterback.

Wilson put in the necessary work this offseason. He dropped 15 pounds and seems to be locked in on turning the tables on the narrative that he can no longer play at a high level. Wilson recently spoke to Kay Adams of the Up & Adams show and discussed what went into his decision to shed a few pounds.

“Well, I’m just trying to be as lean as possible, quick as possible,” Wilson told Adams. “You know, just trying to stay in my younger days as long as possible. I feel great. I’ve done a whole change in the timing of when I eat and all that kind of stuff. I’ve been doing a lot of intermittent fasting and stuff like that.”

“It’s not bad, actually,” Wilson said of intermittent fasting. “The discipline, it’s good for the mind.”

If you were wondering what Wilson’s guilty pleasure was, it’s mac and cheese.

We’ll have to see if changing his diet translates to results on the field this season.
