The Dallas Cowboys are known as “America’s Team” and NBC broadcaster Cris Collinsworth thinks that the network would love to make that a legitimate reality if they could.

Even though they haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996, the Cowboys remain a huge draw anytime they’re on national television. That’s why they tend to be on your television even when they’re not doing very well.

If there’s anyone who knows this, it’s Cris Collinsworth, who has been Sunday Night Football’s analyst since 2009.

During a recent visit to The Dan Patrick Show, the broadcaster shared that he thinks NBC would show nothing but Cowboys games if they could.

“Historically, it was they were really great for a decade and then they really weren’t for a long time,” Collinsworth told Patrick. “And yet, if NBC had their choice, we would do 17 Dallas Cowboys games. Right? I’m not kidding. It doesn’t matter what their record is.”

That’s a little facetious but there’s also some truth to it. It’s a hard truth for a lot of NFL fans, however, especially Dallas’s rivals who don’t care to see the Cowboys unless they’re playing their team.

Fair to say, Collinsworth’s comments stirred up some reactions on social media.
