It’s no secret that four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers is nearing the end of his NFL career as he joins the New York Jets, even if he decided to play a few more seasons with the team before he ultimately walks away from the game. And when he does decide to walk away from the game, it sounds like he knows exactly who he wants to replace him.
During a recent interview with CBS Sports, Aaron Rodgers made it clear that he wants to play “a few good seasons” with the New York Jets before retiring, and he revealed that he wants Jets backup quarterback Zach Wilson to replace him.
“To win here would be really, really special, but why limit it to one?” Rodgers said.
Aaron Rodgers:
“I think we’re gonna be competitive here for a long time… I’d like to be able to play a few good years here and then hand it right back off to Zach, and let him go for the next 15. It’d be a really special 18-20 year run of great quarterback play.”

“I don’t plan on this being a one-and-done. I think we’re going to be competitive here for a long time. I’d like to be able to play a few good years here and then hand it right off to Zach [Wilson], and let him go for the next 15,” Rodgers said. “It’d be a really special 18-20 year run of great quarterback play.”
We’ll have to see whether or not Rodgers gets his wish or if the Jets decide to go in a different direction once Rodgers is ready to walk away from the game.
